Getting Rid of Stubborn Fat

There are certain areas of our bodies that are just prone to having stubborn fat, be it the upper arms, our sides, under the chin or the lower back. No matter how much work is put in at the gym, getting rid of the fat from these areas can be difficult.

There’s a very good reason though why we have such trouble here: these are the places that our body will go to last to use fat as energy. The little pockets that don’t ever budge can be quite troublesome, although there are some solutions out there from cosmetic clinics that can help combat this problem.

In this short post I’ll be showing you a few unique treatments for fat removal that have short to long term positive effects.

Body Wrap

This is a very popular treatment in the UK and is being used by beauty salons up and down the country. You might have seen photos of this before where someone is lying on a table and all wrapped up tight in cling film. The treatment works by rubbing a clay solution all over the body. It is best to think of this like a face mask that you’ll be putting on top to toe that will try to exfoliate your skin while you lie there.

A wrap is usually then carried out and the body is tightly wound up. Some clinics will use something very similar to cling film, but there are those that will go out of their way to use large elasticated bandages that have been sitting and soaking in warm water. When they’re puled out of the water, they are wrapped around tightly and then contract as they dry out.

With someone who has a plastic wrap on, they are essentially sweating out a few pounds of weight (much like a boxer trying to make weight for a fight) and that’s how the body loses weight and appears tighter. With someone using the bandages, because they’re wet a person won’t dehydrate as much and the bandages will cause a small level of contouring that draws muscles together and attempts to smooth fat out.

Most clinics offering wraps will usually have a guarantee of how many inches will be off your waist for a period of 3-4 weeks (it will usually be between 4 to 6 inches) and has become known as a pre-wedding treatment for those looking to fit in their dress.

Laser Lipo

While the wraps only work for so long, there are treatments out there that provide a much more permanent solution and laser lipo has become the go-to fat loss therapy for this.

It wasn’t so long ago that someone considering liposuction would have to undergo surgery to remove all that stubborn fat. Now, fat can be externally sorted out without a consultant having to lift a scalpel. Laser liposuction comes in a few different forms but the most common is to use a wand that emits laser heat on the body.

Because it can pass through skin, when a laser hits fat the cells don’t really know what to do and think that the body needs energy. This causes it to let go of the fat cells which the body then thinks is waste and gets rid of naturally.

The treatment is gaining popularity as it is completely non-invasive and has an extremely low recovery time compared to traditional fat loss treatments.
